Description

Required instructor-led Level 1 Complex Operations ground school, five hours of shared instructor-led practical training for complex and eligible BVLOS operations, and preparation for the Transport Canada Level 1 Complex Operations Examination and flight review. Course fee: $2,000 plus applicable taxes.

CPA requires a valid Advanced Operations pilot certificate for entry. The required Level 1 Complex flight review is booked separately for $500 plus applicable taxes. Transport Canada examination and certificate fees are excluded. Candidates must satisfy applicable ground-school, examination, flight-review and other Transport Canada requirements for certificate issuance. Course completion alone does not authorize Level 1 Complex operations or guarantee success.

The five practical hours are shared instructor-led hours, not five hours of individual instruction per student. For insurance, safety, standardization and quality assurance, CPA supplies the RPAS; personal drones cannot be used. CPA selects an approved practical site according to the programme, weather, airspace, equipment and operational requirements.

Dates depend on instructor, equipment, facility and site availability. Request cancellation or rescheduling in writing: at least seven calendar days’ notice allows one complimentary change; 72 hours to seven days may incur an administrative fee; less than 72 hours or a no-show may forfeit the session, with further training charged separately. Exceptions require CPA approval. CPA will reschedule practical training it postpones for weather, airspace, equipment condition or safety or operational reasons without a rescheduling fee.
