The five practical hours in Advanced and Level 1 Complex are shared instructor-led hours, not five individual hours per student. CPA supplies all practical RPAS equipment; personally owned drones cannot be used. Practical sessions take place at a CPA-approved location subject to weather, airspace, equipment and operational requirements. Important purchase policies

Pickup of physical items

Ground school kits, books and posters are available for free pickup at Canadian Pilot Academy, 2475 Aviation Ln, London, Ontario N5V 3Z9. Arrange a collection time after order confirmation. Shipping is not currently offered at checkout.

Materials and ground school

Ground school kits and instructional materials are final sale and non-refundable. Ground school fees are non-refundable once the student has commenced ground school. In exceptional circumstances, CPA may apply a $15 credit per class attended, at CPA’s sole discretion.

Training and rental rates

Aircraft rental, solo and dual aircraft time is $254.25 per flight hour, tax inclusive. Instructor flight, ground, briefing and debriefing time is $101.70 per hour, tax inclusive. Non-student renters must complete a 2.5-hour checkout with an instructor for insurance before independent rental; aircraft and instructor time are charged at the posted rates.

No guaranteed completion time

CPA does not guarantee completion within a specific timeframe or number of hours. Licensing and training minimums are determined by Transport Canada; actual training depends on individual proficiency and operational factors.

Student records and tax documents

CPA retains Pilot Training Records for at least two years and can provide a CFI-signed photocopy on written request. CPA’s current non-vocational programmes are not eligible for tuition tax credits; no T2202 tuition tax certificate will be issued.
